Probikers Race 2014

The race organized at Oradea by ProBikers was the first one for me this season, but also the first event under the new name: Imprezzio Cannondale Racing.

I took it as a preparation race to see how am I standing, because I am still a bit behind with the schedule and also had some small medical issues.

The course was pretty dry even though if it had some huge mud puddles and ditches made by tractor. I knew that it will be a fast course without any technical zones. It’s not my favorite kind of track but I had to push harder.

I didn’t had any kind of technical problems, the bike being perfect, but I couldn’t find the pace that I was used too. The cherry on top was a course marshal that was “asleep” on course and in the last km at a junction I saw some arrows pointing left. He didn’t showed me but also to other that we have to go right instead, loosing more than 30 seconds.

Because of this I’ve lost a position, finishing 6th overall and 2nd at my age category, by this loosing the victory. I’m a bit frustrated, but this is racing. I can only recommend the organizers teach their marshals to get more involved in their role and help the competitors to keep the correct route.
